Jessica & Paul
Starting the New Year off with my biggest blog post ever! Words cannot express how much I LOVED everything about Jessica & Paul's wedding! Jess and her bridesmaids got ready at a friend's home that was under renovations at the time, which might have proved challenging but did not hamper me from discovering artistic (albeit rustic) backdrops for compositions of all the details. In fact, the unfinished door frames and floor boards only added interest. The day before I had scouted out the property at Mount Direction where Paul grew up and the wedding ceremony and reception were to be held, and could not believe my luck! Ideal conditions for a wedding photographer with my story-telling style to work with...so much sentimentality to be derived from dilapidated barns, ancient forested canopies of tall Eucalypts, and even a beloved old farm dog to capture! When Paul proposed to Jess, she said she instantaneously knew this was where she wanted to have their wedding. I couldn't agree more with her choice. The stunning couple were married in a grove surrounded by towering trees and had their portraits taken along private bush tracks and in front of peeling, painted sheds. Their guests partied on in a marquee while I photographed the couple kissing under a bright, full moon...too many favourite photos to incorporate in these collages!
