Heather & Gerard

I can't say enough nice things about this amazing couple and their very elegant wedding day! Stunning and classy Heather has impeccable taste; I loved her style! So graceful she was, and how beautiful she looked not only all made up in her exquisite wedding dress but even in her white lace dressing gown without any makeup on, she still looked flawless! I went for simplicity yet sophistication in shooting Heather's artistic details to match her tasteful style. I am loving the trend moving away from strapless and towards more up and coming equally as flattering designs for the décolletage. Gerard and his two best men met me in the atrium at Henry Jones Art Hotel for a few shots before heading off on their cruise to Peppermint Bay, where the ceremony and reception were held. Due to rain, the ceremony was moved indoors against glass windows and under high ceilings, but this did not detract from the happy ambiance.  I loved capturing Heather's grandmother congratulate her with a tight embrace shortly afterwards. Family photos were taken just under the shelter of the big oak tree outside, and then the couple and their wedding party braved some light rain for portraits in and around Peppermint Bay. Shooting through leafy tree branches while newlyweds share private and romantic moments to themselves, has become a favourite artistic angle of mine. The softness of the greenery flowing with the wind provides an almost velvety framing for the focus being on my subjects. I won't complain about all the rain we have encountered this wedding season as the light has been perfect and much less harsh than bright summer sun. Very flattering. The striking architecture of this venue also works well with wedding portraits, and this wedding party was fun and cooperative which made my job easy! Lots of laughter and tears throughout the speeches during Heather & Gerard's reception, and partying on the dance floor! Hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I loved taking them...xxx
