Sally & Richard

'Elkington'

I loved photographing Sally & Richard's wedding at their farm on a sprawling countryside property in Evandale called 'Elkington.' Steeped in history, the original colonial dwelling was built circa 1822, with brick sections added in the Georgian Victorian period. The boys staked out the stables while the girls got ready in the main house; meanwhile I collected old horseshoes and gathered antique boxes as sentimental artifacts to photograph alongside the wedding rings and bridal bouquets. The guests sat on hay stacks during the ceremony which took place between the farmhouse and the lake and afterwards we four wheel drove to the top of a hill where I photographed the bride and groom on their own, surrounded by panoramic views of the countryside. I couldn't resist asking Sally and Richard to hop in an old rowboat enabling me to capture reflections on the lake followed by their silhouettes at sunset...
